Most People | By Steve Wilmer

Most people in our society are not willing to do what it takes to experience true success. Most would rather sit around complaining about what is wrong. Most would rather ask for a hand-out rather than accept a hand up. Most would rather discuss everything that is wrong, rather than focus on everything that is going right. My advice…do not be like most.

Remember, you will never influence the world by being just like it. Be better than most. Do more than most. Think higher than most. Speak louder than most. It is really not that difficult because most are mediocre. Most are average. Most do the bare minimum to squeak by.

The sad part is that we all have everything on the inside of us it takes to succeed in any area of our lives we wish. God put it there when he created us. He created us for success, but most have let this world transform them. The Bible reads, “Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind.”

How do you renew your mind you ask? By putting good things in your mind. What are you reading? What are you watching? Who are you listening to? Most people have large televisions rather than large libraries. Do not be like most! Are you a leader or a follower? I will let you guess what most people are. Leaders make a path where there is none. Leaders do not pursue power. Their goal is to empower others. Leaders are willing to act.

Leaders are willing to look foolish. Leaders are willing to fail. Leaders are willing to go the extra mile to accomplish the mission. Most people are not. Do not be like most. Dr. Steve Maraboli observed, “The universe does not give you what you ask for with your thoughts; it gives you what you demand with actions.” Most people dream of a better life but will not get off their butts and do what it takes to obtain what they desire. Most people accept what life brings them rather than demanding from life what they want. Do not be like most!

When I left the insurance industry, most agents questioned my decision. They could not understand why I would leave a successful job and dive into a new business. Well, I have been doing the opposite of what most people do for some time now. That is why I am experiencing abundance success and I am just getting started. It is never too late for you to do the same.

“Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind.”

If most go left, you go right. If most say no, you say yes. If most sit down, you get up off your ass and start moving, and do not stop until you reach your destination. When it gets hard, do not stop. When you get tired, do not quit. When people tell you it cannot be done, don’t, do not listen. Just keep going and going and going and going. I am not telling you it will be easy, I am telling you it will be worth it. Just keep taking your shot, practicing your aim, sharpening your skills and I guarantee eventually you will hit your target. Train yourself to think differently than most people. This transformation does not happen overnight.

Train yourself to think outside the box and question everything. Why can’t it be done? An old Chinese proverb reads, “The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.” Like I said earlier, our society is full of most people; Those who barely do the minimum to squeak by, unnoticed. Those who simply follow the crowd. If you want to make a serious change in your life, all you have to do is the opposite of what most people are doing.

Ask yourself…am I most people? If you do not like your answer, it is never too late to change. Change starts in our mind. Pick up a book, start there, and I will see you at the top…because the bottom is crowded, with most people!
